Life Skills & Vocational Camps

Learning by Doing

Our Life Skills and Vocational Camps provide youth ages 10–17 with an immersive learning-by-doing experience that bridges the gap between curiosity and career readiness. By stepping outside the traditional classroom, our youth discover hidden talents and gain the practical self-sufficiency required for a successful life.

To ensure our youth have the best possible guidance, we hire aged-out foster youth as camp staff, allowing them to lead by example and share their journey with the next generation.

Camp Programming Includes:

  • Essential Self-Sufficiency: Practical workshops covering car maintenance, cooking, personal grooming, and home repairs.
  • Trade Exposure: Partnership with FIU to teach HVAC and other vocational trades leading to certification pathways.
  • Recreational Discovery: Life-enriching activities including sailing, golf, and pickleball that expand horizons and build confidence.
  • Peer-Led Mentorship: Aged-out youth serving as guides, proving through lived experience that success is achievable.
