Citrus Health Network

Citrus Health Network provides Foster Care services to specialty populations.  Prospective foster parents are recruited, trained, and licensed by Citrus staff, and given additional training in strategies for dealing with different behaviors.  Citrus partners with GHH to help us find the children who need our help, especially sibling groups who would otherwise be separated.

TMT Marble & Tile

TMT Marble & Tile was founded in 2005. We are a provider of marble, tile, granite, as well as quartz with a vision to help create unique and custom spaces. They provide quality products and custom countertops with exceptional customer care. TMT’s desire to put people first is even more evident through its philanthropic endeavors. GHH is thankful for TMT’s generous financial donations, which have helped us grow our programs and better serve our kids.

Camovement was founded by Cam Be, a film director working at the intersection of independent film, travel documentary and progressive hip-hop culture.
This organization donated their artistic talents to make our introduction video. Cam Be was integral in funding our program in its early stages and continues to provide financial support.

Caring for Miami

Caring for Miami has a vision for a city where every family in need is cared for... body, mind and spirit. Their mission is to care for families in need through serving their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
Through their Backpack Program, Caring for Miami provides a bag of food for GHH kids in both of our homes every week, along with over 1200 hungry students in over 40 schools across Miami-Dade County.

Florida Department of Children and Families

The Department of Children and Families, Economic Self Sufficiency Program has several programs that can help Florida families. They include, Food Assistance, Temporary Cash Assistance, Medicaid and Refugee Assistance.
DCF licensed our GHH homes, allowing us to provide the services we offer to foster youth.

Our Kids

Our Kids creates safe havens for children and families through foster care and adoptions. This partner provides GHH with connections to foster kids in need of housing, as well as linking us with resources to help our kids succeed.


The YES Movement project has been developed to present and demonstrate the importance and social impact of “El Sistema”(the system of orchestra and bands from Venezuela) and its related initiatives involving the integral development of the youth,  and to present the investment necessary to start “Youth Enlightenment System (YES)” that will be initially implemented in the Miami-Dade area. YesMovement has helped GHH kids by offering free music lessons to develop their skills, enrich their lives and open them up to more successful opportunities.

Virgo Web Design is a boutique web design agency based out of Chicago. Our expertise includes the design and development of e-commerce websites, digital marketing through social media applications, and responsive web design.


GrayRobinson Attorneys at Law provides exceptional legal services to Fortune 500 companies, emerging businesses, lending institutions, local and state agencies, entrepreneurs, developers and individuals across Florida, the nation and the world.

Timothy McDougall

Role: President

Pilot | United Airlines

Tim is an airline pilot for United Airlines. He began flying at the young age of 10 years old following his passion. He later went on to obtain his Bachelors in Science at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Tim is a member of the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, mentoring the youth in the aviation industry, and currently serves as President of the board for Genesis Hopeful Haven.

Eboni Moss

Role: Treasurer

Tax Integration Manager | Berkowitz Pollack Brant

Eboni Moss currently resides in Miami, FL and serves as a Tax Integration Manager at Berkowitz Pollack Brant. Having graduated from Georgia State University with her M.S. in Taxation, Eboni went on to sharpen her skills as a Tax Contractor, Tax Manager and Supervisor at a number of tax organizations in Atlanta, including Deloitte Tax, Moss Solutions Group and Bennett Thrasher. With her expertise in taxes and finance as well as previous experience as a Board Member for the Women’s Employment Opportunity Project, Eboni makes an excellent addition to Genesis Hopeful Haven’s Board.

Jason Bago

Owner | Prompt Property

Owner of Prompt Property Solutions, LLC a residential redevelopment company serving Dade and Broward County.  Chapter leader and ambassador for The Little Lighthouse a non profit organization serving at risk youth. In his spare time Jason enjoys volunteering, live music and playing tennis and golf. 

Veronica Meza

Role: Director

Lawyer | Gray/Robinson

Veronica Meza was born and raised in Norwalk, CT.  She earned her bachelor's in law and society, with honors, from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She graduated from the University of Miami School of Law with her juris doctor in May 2010. She is a Senior Associate at GrayRobinson, P.A.  where she represents clients in commercial litigation disputes and international arbitration matters.  Veronica is a board member of Genesis Hopeful Haven.  Of Colombian descent, Veronica loves to dance salsa, and is a former member of professional dance teams in Los Angeles, California and Orlando, Florida.

John-Marra Youte

Role: Director

Director of Admissions | Year UP

John-Marra Youte is the Director of Admissions for Year Up South Florida. Prior to joining Year Up Providence full time in 2008, John-Marra served as a mentor, a Program Specialist, an Adolescent Outreach Worker, a Life Coach and a Career Development Field Coordinator. John-Marra received his Masters of Education in Psychological Studies from Cambridge College and his B.S. in African History from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. After many years in Massachusetts, John-Marra and his family moved back to South Florida, where he currently resides. His continued goal is to spark the minds of young adults to bring true change to South Florida and the world.

Rachel Walker

Role: Vice President

Associate PRJ | Urban Strategies, INC

Rachel Walker is the CSS Associate Project Manager for Urban Strategies in Miami, Florida. Her career within the non-profit industry began in March of 1995, in which she served as the Affordable Home Mortgage Coordinator and Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director and Board of Directors for the P.U.L.S.E. There Rachel became one of the lead coordinators with the Miami-Dade Housing Alliance, which consisted of HUD, Fannie Mae, PULSE, Miami Dade Affordable Housing, Inc., and local banks throughout the county. She currently serves as the community liaison for the Northpark at Scott Carver community, in which she oversees a comprehensive service network that connects children and families to viable supportive services.

Angela Prugh

Role: Secretary

Project Manager | Jupiter ICO

Angela Prugh recently moved from Chicago to Miami to be more involved with GHH. She currently serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors and also participates in the Marketing Committee, Fundraising Committee, and spending free time with the kids.

Caryn Lavernia

Role: Director

Assistant Vice President | Florida International University

Caryn Lavernia serves as Assistant Vice President for Engagement at Florida International University where she works on behalf of the university to build triple win partnerships that benefit students/faculty, the partner, and ultimately the global community. In a past life, she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer and a founding member of City Year Miami. Caryn currently serves as the VP of the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of South Florida and a board member at Genesis Hopeful Haven. She is a proud alum of Miami Fellows Class VIII.

Reneé Virgo

Role: Director

Designer | Boxer Brand Design

Reneé Virgo is a Chicago-based designer with a dynamic range of creative roles under her belt. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago and has since built a background in product design, design for print and digital art, with a unique strength in illustration. Reneé currently serves as a packaging designer at Boxer Brand Design, a lead agency in Chicago. With her branding and design expertise, Reneé has contributed her talents to Genesis Hopeful Haven from the very beginning – from its logo and brand design to all marketing materials and visual communications.

We also accept holiday presents during the holiday seasons when our children feel the most alone.
